Three Causes for Kidney Cysts

  The causes for kidney cysts can be divided into three parts:

  1. Congenital dysplasia



  Congenital dysplasia can cause a various of diseases, for Cystic renal diseases, which can cause the medullary sponge kidney, dysplasia polycystic kidney disease and so on. That is the main cause for kidney cysts.

  2. Gene mutation (non genetic)



  For polycystic kidney disease, most of which are inherited by parents, which can be divided into autosomal dominant inheritance and autosomal recessive inheritance. But some PKD patients are not inherited by their parents, and the causes are not congenital dysplasia , which is caused by embryonic gene mutation. In the process of embryo formation, due to the role of various factors, the mutation of the gene has formed the polycystic kidney disease. This situation is very rare, but it can happen. So some paitents with polycystic kidney disease can have not the genetic history from their parents.

  3. Various infection

  Infection can cause abnormal changes in the esoteric environment, which results in a change of cystic environment and makes the cyst activity enhanced. Under the condition ,the formation and development of cysts are promoted. Besides, any infections on body can go into the kidney through the blood flowing and influence the cysts, such as cyst infection. Except for the worse clinical symptoms, it can accelerate the further growth of cysts, and damage the renal function. Common infections include upper respiratory tract infections (including colds), urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal tract infections, skin infections, trauma infection and so on. Whether bacterial infection or viral infection can have



  a great impact on the cyst, which is also the cause of kidney cysts.
